PMG CrossOver Statistics

Posted on 01/01/2020

About three-quarters of PCGS Currency notes submitted through PMG's standard CrossOver service have been re-certified at the same grade or higher.

Paper Money Guaranty (PMG) has announced statistics for its CrossOver service. As of July 21, 2020, 77% of PCGS Currency-graded notes submitted for PMG’s standard CrossOver service have been re-certified by PMG at the same grade or higher. Updated statistics are published weekly on Fridays.

PMG’s CrossOver service allows notes encapsulated by PCGS Currency to be submitted to PMG for grading without being removed from their holders. PMG will remove the notes from their PCGS Currency holders only if PMG believes that the notes will meet or exceed PMG’s standards for the grades assigned by PCGS Currency. If PMG does not believe that the notes will meet PMG’s standards, the notes will be returned in their PCGS Currency holders and the grading fees will be refunded less a £10 or € 10 processing charge per note.

In addition to the standard CrossOver service, a separate option called “Cross at Any Grade” offers a 20% discount on grading fees for PCGS Currency-graded notes submitted to PMG for grading regardless of PMG’s final determination of the grade.

PMG has long been distinguished by its accuracy, consistency, integrity and stability. Its CrossOver service was launched in response to requests from collectors and dealers to have their notes certified by PMG after PCGS Currency abruptly ceased operations earlier this year.
